Doraly Expo Market was founded in 1993 and it functions in Afumati, Ilfov County. The business started from the businessman Gheorghe Iaciu that has built commercial areas on 4000 sqm. Meanwhile, the business has developed spontaneously, being evaluated in 2014 at 89 million euros.

The challenge of realizing a well-known wholesale commercial park did not stop here. Willing to obtain cash, Iaciu wanted from 2006 to attract a partner with equal shares. Thus, after negotiations that lasted for almost 11 months, an end was reached: the partnership with the HSBC Specialist Investments Limited (HSIL), an important moment in the evolution of the shareholder structure. In 2011 HSIL has rebranded as InfraRed Capital Partners after completing a successful management buy-out from the mother company.

Evolution

From the merging moment, Doraly Expo Market finalized several projects established on 23.70 ha land in Afumati: the construction of one cold storage having a surface about 2200 sqm, and three new pavilions for storages and commercial areas about 27000 sqm.

The partnership with InfraRed drove to a more rigorous control of cash flow, the ERP being totally renewed. Also, investments in several domains were made: in infrastructure - for connecting the areas belonging to Expo Market Doraly to DN 2 and to the ring-road, in supervising equipment and in security. From the customers’ viewpoint, the portfolio realized by Doraly Expo Market represents a success point in the continuity of its activity.

Doraly Expo Market is the most modern wholesale commercial park in Romania, with a surface of 227 160 sqm where over 850 firms are developing their business.
