Doraly Expo Market was founded in 1993 and it functions in Afumati, Ilfov county. The business started from the businessman Gheorghe Iaciu that has built commercial areas on 4000 sqm. Meanwhile, the business has developed spontaneously, being evaluated in 2007 at 89 million euros.

The challenge of realizing a well-known commercial complex did not stop here. Willing to obtain cash, Iaciu wanted from in 2006 to attract a partner with equal shares. Thus, after negotiations that lasted for almost 11 months, an end was reached: the partnership with the HSBC British Financial Group (Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation), an important moment in the evolution of the shareholder structure.

Evolution

From the merging moment, the company finalized several projects established on 23.70 ha land in Afumati: the construction of one building for frozen / refrigerated products with a capacity of 1500 sqm, storage areas – 1300 sqm and a new commercial area pavilion – 17800 sqm.

The partnership with HSBC drove to a more rigorous control of cask flow, the computer system being totally changed. Also, investments in several domains were made: in infrastructure - for connecting the areas belonging to Expo Market Doraly to DN 2 and the ring-road, in supervising equipments and in security. From the customers’ viewpoint, the portfolio realized by Doraly Expo Market represents a success point in the continuity of its activity.
